Raiders Curb Phantoms, 5-2
|
The Reno Raiders topped the Coronado Phantoms, 5-2, in Darryl Kile League action at Phantoms Field. The player of the game was Reno pitcher and Japan native Orinosuke Matsuoka. Matsuoka picked up the win for Reno, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. Mei-shan Huang earned his 1st save in 1 tries.
Ken Donovan took Kane Wright deep with one out in the top of the fifth. On a 2-2 fastball, Donovan drilled a 3-run home run to right. It was his 6th home run of the season and put Reno on top, 5-2.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Reno manager Chris Brading. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The win lifts Reno to a record of 11-15.
