Kakuta Leads Death Stars to Win over Escape
The Detroit Death Stars bested the Scranton Escape by a score of 12-8, with first baseman Shinji Kakuta getting the main credit. On the day, Kakuta was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Death Stars. Lorenzo Ortega sewed up the save, his 1st. Losses have been few and far between for the Escape, who are now 18-7.

Detroit took the lead in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Sagramor Vob stroked a 2-run double to make it 10-8, Death Stars.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Kakuta told the Detroit Citizen. "It's as simple as that."
