Coal Miners Rally For Late Win Over Raiders
The Antioch Coal Miners had to overcome a big game from Reno designated hitter Ennio Duccio to leave House of Pain with a 9-6 victory. Duccio went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. Antioch reliever Eddie Rosado picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-2. Li-zhu Kuang was collared with the loss. The hot start continues for the defending champion Coal Miners, who took their 18th win in 25 games this year.

With his team trailing 6-4 in the top of the ninth, Juan Andrade rose to the challenge. The Antioch shortstop got hold of a cutter from Jorge Mota for a grand slam home run. The round-tripper put the Coal Miners on top, 8-6.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Andrade told the Antioch Citizen. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
