The Antioch Coal Miners beat the Reno Raiders, 9-0, at House of Pain. Antioch first baseman Jamie Treece earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Tony López earned the win for Antioch. He lasted 5 innings, allowing no earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The hot start continues for the defending champion Coal Miners, who took their 17th win in 24 games this year.

Late-game drama came in the top of the eighth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the batter, Jamie Treece, hit a grand slam. It helped Antioch seize the win.
