The Cacti had to overcome a fine effort from Silver Lake pitcher Joe Hutchins to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Ashton Gate. Hutchins went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. With the loss, Silver Lake sinks to 8-16.

This game went down to the wire. In the top of the ninth, Joe Severns had a big at-bat. With two out, the Albuquerque shortstop hit a 2-run double, to put his team up, 4-2.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Severns.
