Late Rally by Islanders Seals 4th Straight Win
|
Hawaii third baseman Jim Burry picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the So Cal Republic, 7-6. With their winning streak at 4, the Islanders have raced to a strong start this season.
The Islanders were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when right fielder Antonio Roman turned a 0-2 forkball from Pin-zhen Au into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Hawaii a thrilling 7-6 win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Burry said.
