Caterpillars Drop Bumblebees with Late Score
|
António Mejía pitched well, but the Pasadena Bumblebees still lost the game, falling 2-1 to the Peoria Caterpillars at Excavatar Park. The Bumblebees fall to 8-12 and continue to sputter in the early going.
With a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the ninth, Motoyuki Taniguchi delivered the knockout blow when he hit a walk-off run-scoring single to win it for Peoria. In the contest, Taniguchi went 2-2 with a double.
"The want-to is there for our guys," said Pasadena manager Ramón Rosário. "We'll get this thing turned around."
