Raptors Get 7-4 Win Versus Bronx
|
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Mario Encarnación, the Omaha Raptors defeated the Bronx Bombers, 7-4. Encarnación went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Raptors. Jesús Castillo was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Wilson Deleón closed it out for his 3rd save.
Encarnación brought the fans to their feet in the bottom of the first, when the 28-year old first baseman ripped a 2-run home run. The round-tripper put Omaha ahead, 2-0.
In postgame remarks, Encarnación said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
Bronx, at 3-16, is off to a dreadful start in 2032.
