Racers Pin 3-1 Loss on Phantoms
|
The Bowling Green Racers and Coronado Phantoms played a tight game at Top of the Hill, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.
In a tight game between the Bowling Green Racers and the Coronado Phantoms, pitcher Tokutomi Nishida was terrific on the mound. The Bowling Green right-hander was named the player of the game in Bowling Green's 3-1 win. Keith Martin picked up the save, his 1st.
Bowling Green third baseman Tony Prado contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Racers ahead, 2-1.
"Tokutomi was pounding the zone," said Bowling Green manager Walt Dobson.
The Phantoms fall to 7-12 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2032 season.
