The Albuquerque Cacti topped the Scranton Escape, 4-1, with catcher Scotti Scannell playing a big role. Scannell was 2-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Cacti in the win. Albuquerque reliever Dan Thompson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Dave Garcia was saddled with the loss. Losses have been rare for the Escape, who are now 15-4.

Scannell in the top of the fourth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Cacti leading 1-0, he hit a bases-clearing double.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Scannell.
