Banditos Stymie Coronado, Take 5-1 Win
|
The Acapulco Banditos got a stellar effort from pitcher Bob Alexander, helping Acapulco score a 5-1 win over the visiting Coronado Phantoms. Alexander got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 9 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Alexander allowed 1 earned run. Lex Herrewijn earned the save, his 4th.
Jonathan Reynaud had a productive at-bat for the Banditos with one out in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded, the right fielder hit a sacrifice fly. The at-bat was important in the Acapulco win.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Acapulco manager John Perry.
The Phantoms fall to 7-11 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2032 season.
