Racers Turn Back Indian Wells, 8-6
|
Indian Wells second baseman Luiz Lopez was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Bowling Green beat the Aeropostales, 8-6. Lopez was named the player of the game despite the loss. Bowling Green reliever Jorge Guerrero was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Luciano Carreiras. With the loss, Indian Wells falls to 8-9.
Bowling Green grabbed a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the fifth when Tynan Miller hit a 2-run triple. For the day, Miller was 1 for 3 with a triple and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Good win for us," said Miller. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
