In a low-scoring clash between Coronado and Acapulco, pitcher Alberto Rivera was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Coronado in the 3-2 win. Pedro Alejo picked up the save for Coronado, his 3rd of the year. The Banditos, at 5-11, have stumbled out of the gate.

With runs few and far between, the Phantoms had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Coronado came in the top of the fifth inning, when right fielder Shunen Miyazaki delivered a 2-run double. The double was hit off Nobuhito Suzuki and made the score 3-1, Phantoms. Miyazaki went 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
