Omaha pitcher Roosevelt Roberts gave the Fireballs all they could handle, but in the end, Joplin left The Firepit with a 3-2 win. Roberts allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits over 7 innings. The Raptors fall to 5-10 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2032 season.
Joplin second baseman Sachi Watanabe had a game-changing at-bat in the bottom of the 11th. On a fastball from Esteban Torres, he launched a solo home run. It gave Joplin a 3-2 lead.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Jeremy Lake.
