Bombers Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Bronx left-hander Beau Miller pitched his team to victory over the Billings Mustangs at Bronx Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. In 6.1 innings, Miller surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Ewan Pethick earned the save for Bronx, his 1st of the year.
In the bottom of the first inning, Eric Swinney muscled up and hit a 2-run home run. It put Bronx ahead, 2-0. For the game, Swinney went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Bronx skipper Weston Papenfuss.
The Mustangs, now 7-4, have been pitiful so far.
