Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at The Ice Box.
Detroit Death Stars starter Felipe Marés was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Minneapolis Freeze, 5-3. The Freeze fall to 3-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2032 season.
Late-game drama came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Anthony Miller, hit a single. It helped Detroit seize the win.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Marés.
