The Minneapolis Freeze beat the Detroit Death Stars, 5-4 at The Ice Box, in part due to right fielder Yen-nien Tong, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Minneapolis is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 3rd in 8 games.

Flexing his muscles for Minneapolis was the aforementioned Tong. The right fielder had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second for the Freeze. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Detroit manager David Parker. "But we decided not to take it."
