Islanders Topple Texans, 6-5
|
Hawaii beat Dallas at Metroplex Park, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to second baseman Jim Burry, who earned player of the game honors. The win leaves Hawaii with a record of 9-8.
Burry contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the fourth. With a runner on 3rd, he grounded out, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Hawaii get the win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Hawaii manager Leland Ray.
