The Joplin Fireballs powered past the Pasadena Bumblebees, 10-5, at The Firepit. Manny Silva was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, to lead the charge. Ichiro Hashimoto picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Alfonso Sadim was tagged with the loss. The loss drops Pasadena to 2-2.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the second, Silva had a key at-bat for Joplin. With a runner on 2nd, Silva, the 15 overall pick in the 2028 draft, hit a 2-run home run off Alfonso Sadim, making the score 4-2, Fireballs.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Silva told the Joplin Gazette.
