Maple Makes It 10 Straight, Barely
|
The winning streak continued for Maple at Legends Park.
The Maple Marauders beat the Kansas City Tornadoes, 5-4, in 11 innings. Maple first baseman Kojuro Ine merited player of the game honors with his performance. He hit 2 home runs. The win was the 14th in 17 games this season for the Marauders, who appear to be on course for a return trip to the playoffs.
One of the clutch hits for Maple came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the 11th with one out, Angel Barajas, who is tied for 7th in the TML with a .452 on-base percentage, hit a solo home run to put the Marauders up, 5-4. For the game, the left fielder was 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk.
"Someone different steps up for us each time out," said Jesús Alfaro, the Maple skipper.
