The Flash had to overcome a fine performance from Acapulco pitcher Bob Alexander to grab a 4-3 win at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Alexander allowed 4 earned runs over 7 innings. Fairfield reliever Saiyid Mashwanis got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Bob Alexander was tagged with the loss. With the loss, Acapulco drops to 1-1.
Fairfield took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Juan Carlos Cruz stroked a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Flash.
After the game, Fairfield manager Gary Altman applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
