Cats Get Close Win Over Canadians
Crowds lined up early in front of LaGrave Field, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2032 TRIPLE A season. On the mound was Jian-guo Yang for the visiting Vancouver Canadians and James Akehurst for the hometown Fort Worth Cats. In a spirited contest, the Cats pulled out the win, defeating the Canadians by the score of 4-3. Earning player of the game honors was Jian-guo Yang. Juan Carlos Baraja picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Alberto Ramírez was tagged with the loss.

Dave Stoner was the walk-off hero for Fort Worth. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cats first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We did a lot of things right," said Stoner.
