Fireballs Rally For Late Win Over Freeze
The Joplin Fireballs got their 2032 TRIPLE A season off to a good start, defeating the Minneapolis Freeze, 7-5. Hiroya Kuroki hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. For his pace-setting performance, he was named player of the game. Joplin reliever Tomoyuki Kiyomizu picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Cory McCoy shouldered the loss.

Kuroki had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-2 sinker from Cory McCoy, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Fireballs a 7-5 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Kuroki.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Kuroki.
