Rhinos Rally to Eke Out Win
The Rubber City Rhinos stymied the Portland Beavers, 3-2, at The Rubber Grounds. Billy Joel, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 walks for Rubber City. Reliever Atsushi Iitsuka picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Olivier Martin took the loss. The last-place Beavers have dropped 5 straight games.

The Rhinos used some clutch hitting to beat the Beavers, a good example being the at-bat of George Davis in the bottom of the 11th. With two down, Davis gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a walk-off run-scoring single.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Davis. "And not try to do too much."
