Late Rally Gets Win for Bombers
|
The Eureka Hornets wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Pat Sheffield, falling 2-1 to the South Carolina Bombers at The Nest. South Carolina is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 14 games.
This game went down to the wire. In the top of the tenth, Bill Hawken had a big at-bat. With one out, the South Carolina first baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put his team up, 2-1.
"This game tested our mettle," said Hawken.
