|
Kansas City starter David Myers put a stranglehold on the Oklahoma City offense. The left-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Tornadoes to a 4-1 win. In 8 innings, Myers surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Kansas City now sits in 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division at 61-98.
Trailing 1-0, Kansas City hopes soared in the bottom of the second inning when the 27-year old first baseman Hal Farmer lifted a 2-1 slider into the stands for a 3-run home run. The round-tripper put the Tornadoes up, 3-1.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Farmer said.
