The Cabo San Lucas Toreros topped the Maple Marauders, 4-2, in Thurman Munson League action at Field de Los Layendas. The player of the game was Cabo San Lucas pitcher and Hastings, England native Ashley Heath. The winning pitcher was Heath, now 13-8. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Amirtharaj Nagaraja converted his 18th save in 24 tries.
Also pitching in was Cabo San Lucas right fielder Ramón Márquez, who hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Márquez went 2-3 with a home run.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Cabo San Lucas manager Matt Johnson. "It's usually not just one thing."
Cabo San Lucas currently is in 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division at 74-83.
