Beavers Beat Sasquatch in 11
|
Portland Beavers starter Félix Reina pitched a strong game against the Seattle Sasquatch at Sick's Stadium, leading the Beavers to a 5-3 win. Portland reliever Tim Stady Jr. picked up the win, upping his record to 8-2. Mokichi Nishiyama was saddled with the loss. Olivier Martin earned his 9th save in 16 chances.
This game was not decided until Motoyasu Baba came to bat in the top of the 11th. With the bases loaded and one out, the Portland left fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Beavers took the lead, 4-3.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Seattle manager Carl Best.
The last-place Beavers are now 68-88, the Sasquatch 73-83.
