The Hawaii Islanders knocked off the Brooklyn Black Knights, 4-2, at Blue Ivy Stadium. Douglas Dannattet, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Hawaii won. The catcher was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Hidetada Abe recorded the save for Hawaii, his 9th of the season. Hawaii is second in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division with a record of 96-59.
An important at-bat for Hawaii came with one out in the top of the sixth. With the bases loaded, Dannattet hit a run-scoring single, which contributed to the Islanders win.
"I thought we played a nice game," Dannattet told the Hawaii Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
