Vancouver Beats San Francisco, 5-2
|
The Vancouver Pioneers got a rain-soaked win over the San Francisco Earthquakes at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards.
Ruben Torres was instrumental in his team's 5-2 triumph over the San Francisco Earthquakes. The left fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Vancouver Pioneers. Garry Strode got the save, the 41st for him this season.
Torres delivered in the bottom of the fourth inning for Vancouver. With the game tied and runners on 1st and 2nd, the left fielder hit a 3-run home run to right.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Vancouver skipper Emmett Brown.
Vancouver is now 83-72. San Francisco is 64-90.
