Late Rally by Republic Secures Win
|
The So Cal Republic turned back the San Diego Hops, 6-5, at House of the Republic. Amad Kuram was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. So Cal reliever Soleh Purbacaraka was credited with the win, to go to 4-1. Abdul-Fattah Arfan took the loss for San Diego. So Cal has an impressive 103-51 record.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, So Cal second baseman Donald Latulippe hit a run-scoring single, helping his team get the win.
"We'll savor this win," Latulippe told the So Cal Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
