Mafia Snatch Late Win
|
The New York Mafia and Columbus Aces obliged those fans who came to Don Corleone Park looking for a good time.
The New York Mafia stopped the Columbus Aces, 6-5, at Don Corleone Park. The Mafia got a big game from Skip Clayton, who was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Kenny Allen, credited with the win, is now 8-11. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. Jun'ichi Suzuki picked up the save, his 5th.
Clayton contributed when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. Coming with two outs and a runner on 2nd, the single proved to be critical to helping New York get the win.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Chris Schell. "But it's got to translate into wins."
Columbus is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
