Grays Top Pioneers to Even Record
|
The Georgia Grays relied on the hitting of third baseman Lachlan Miners to stop the Vancouver Pioneers, 6-3. For the game, Miners was 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The defending champion Grays have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 8-8 with the win.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the second, with the game tied, Masamune Tanaka was at the plate when Georgia scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Grays to go in front, 3-1.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Miners.
