The South Carolina Bombers defeated the Vancouver Pioneers, 6-4, in Thurman Munson League action at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. Kiyonobu Yamasaki received player of the game honors. The 13-year veteran was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gerardo Vela earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 3 earned runs on 11 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. The Bombers, at 90-61, lead by one game in their division.

Vincent Robinson gave South Carolina a good at-bat in the top of the second inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double to help send South Carolina to the win.

Yamasaki said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
