Petit Delivers Walk-Off Win for Hops
|
The The Brew Stade faithful were treated to a dramatic, walk-off win.
The San Diego Hops took Portland pitcher Félix Reina's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Brew Stade. The final score had San Diego getting past the Beavers, 5-4. Reina went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 7. San Diego reliever Juan Vázquez picked up the win, upping his record to 6-12. Juan Quezada was saddled with the loss.
The game came to an abrupt end with one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Juan Quezada, Jean-Claude Petit drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave San Diego the 5-4 walk-off win.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Petit said.
The Hops raised their record to 67-85.
