Earthquakes Saddle Marauders with 6-3 Loss
|
Benefiting from Adam Kerr's productive game, the San Francisco Earthquakes downed the Maple Marauders, 6-3. Kerr was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Earthquakes. Jin-woo Pi was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Kunihiko Mizuno closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 17th save of the year.
Juan López came through for San Francisco in the bottom of the first. With two out, López victimized Umarah Abdul-Quddus with a 2-run home run. It was his 37th home run of the season and put San Francisco on top, 2-0.
"I felt good up there," said Kerr. "I saw the ball well."
San Francisco is now 64-87.
