Cabo San Lucas Toreros starter Joey Steamer turned in a sterling performance against the Bloomington Blazers, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Steamer picked up the win for Cabo San Lucas, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 13-14. Bloomington has now lost 4 consecutive games.
The Blazers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Toreros going into the top of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old center fielder Kajal Ghandi came to the plate. Ghandi hit a run-scoring single on a 0-1 curveball from Bloomington hurler Rubén Cabrera. It was Ghandi's 140th hit of the year.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Steamer.
