Hops Top Sasquatch in Extras
|
San Diego Hops starter Jim Phillips turned in a top-notch performance against the Seattle Sasquatch at Sick's Stadium. The result was a win for the Hops, 2-1. The win was credited to Zong-yuan Sang in relief. His record improves to 1-0. George Fortin took the loss. The Sasquatch, at 4-12, have stumbled out of the gate.
Nadir Rizvi had a productive at-bat for the Hops with two out in the top of the ninth. With a runner on 2nd, the pinch hitter drew a walk. The at-bat was important in the San Diego win.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Seattle manager Carl Best.
