Blazers Fall to .500 After Loss to Earthquakes
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes got a magnificent performance from pitcher Carlos Estrada, who stifled the Bloomington offense en route to a 3-1 Earthquakes win at Golden Gate Park. San Francisco now has a 3-game win streak.
Jorge Zamora had a big run-scoring double for the Earthquakes in the bottom of the third inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from Loeck Jurgens and stroked the double to center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Earthquakes ahead, 2-0.
Zamora said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
