Republic Lose to Beavers, 4-2

Fans who gathered at Waterfront Park saw a good contest between the Portland Beavers and So Cal Republic.
The Portland Beavers defeated the So Cal Republic, 4-2, at Waterfront Park. Portland first baseman Lai-hsiang Xiu was named player of the game for his superb performance. He hit 2 home runs. Tim Stady Jr. notched his 29th save in 35 chances.
In the bottom of the sixth, Ralph Blair took a sinker from Felipe Rodríguez and pounded a 2-run home run to left. It put Portland on top, 4-2. For the game, Blair was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said So Cal skipper Munenori Sato, "and it cost us."
Portland has now won 3 in a row.
