Hornets Lose to Bombers, 4-2
|
Jesús Dela was instrumental in his team's 4-2 triumph over the Eureka Hornets. The designated hitter went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the South Carolina Bombers. Ángel Ruíz earned the win for South Carolina. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 17-5. Juan Manuel locked down his 2nd save.
South Carolina took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Dela hit a 3-run home run. His 28th home run of the season made the score 3-2, South Carolina.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Dela told the South Carolina Daily News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
The Bombers bumped their record to 87-60 with this latest triumph.
