Grays Lose Despite Yoshino's Valiant Effort
|
Georgia left fielder Tadataka Yoshino had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-5, to Vancouver at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. Yoshino was 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Georgia is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Georgia hurler Hervé Muller, Ruben Torres, who is tied for 8th in the TML in home runs with 27, hit a 2-run single. The Pioneers went on to win.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Davey Morris, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
