Marauders Stumble, Lose to Tornadoes
|
Conditions were not ideal but Kansas City and Maple were able to put their game in the books.
The Kansas City Tornadoes beat the Maple Marauders, 8-3, at Debris Field. Kansas City second baseman José Liñares earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Kansas City reliever Na'il bin Bashshar picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Will Caron shouldered the loss.
Liñares had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the second for the Tornadoes. Coming up with the bases loaded and Kansas City trailing 1-0, he hit a bases-clearing double.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Liñares. "Just do my job."
The Tornadoes saw their record improve to 55-91.
