Mitsunari Kobayashi pitched well, but the Eureka Hornets still lost the game, falling 4-3 to the Kansas City Tornadoes at Debris Field. Kansas City is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 6th win in 16 games.

Bing-de Xian struck a blow for the Tornadoes in the bottom of the sixth when he hit a 2-run home run. It put his team ahead, 4-2. For the game, Xian went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

After the game, Kansas City manager Glenn Rowe applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
