New York catcher Ricardo Corte picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Columbus Aces, 5-4. Lorenzo Soto was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. Clemente Curry earned the save for New York, his 2nd of the year.

New York grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Corte hit a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season put the Mafia out in front, 5-2.

Corte said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
