Multi-HR Game for Roman in 7-5 Win
|
The Hawaii Islanders topped the Bloomington Blazers by the score of 7-5, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Antonio Roman. Roman went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Islanders. Rodrigo Garza got the win, improving to 18-6. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Getting the save was Winston Boer, his 33rd.
An important at-bat for Hawaii came with two out in the top of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Roman hit a 3-run home run, which contributed to the Islanders win.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Roman.
Their 86-54 record puts the Islanders second in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
