The Vancouver Pioneers got a good effort from starter Kenko Samurakami in defeating the Portland Beavers at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. The final score was 3-2. John Bunce closed the door for Vancouver, picking up his 6th save of the year. Vancouver is in third place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division with a record of 76-65.
Baskoro Pamungkas helped out the Vancouver cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.
"We were in it," said Portland manager Ryan Blandford. "We just didn't score enough runs."
