Islanders Saddle Blazers with 8-6 Loss
|
Hawaii and Bloomington duked it out at Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park and the Islanders came out victorious.
The Hawaii Islanders powered past the Bloomington Blazers, 8-6, at Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park. Bagaskoro Pakpahan was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. Winston Boer earned his 32nd save in 37 chances.
Jim Burry's at-bat in the top of the seventh was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 6-6. The Hawaii third baseman hit a 2-run single off Davis Marés to put the Islanders up.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Burry said. "We did a good job of that today."
At 85-53, the Islanders are currently second in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
