South Carolina rode a decent outing from starter Ángel Ruíz to victory over the Oklahoma City Prowlers at Bomber Ballpark. The final score was 5-3. Ruíz, now 15-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. Picking up the save was Christian Wallace, his 17th.
Also pitching in was South Carolina designated hitter Bill Hawken, who hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Hawken went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Ruíz.
At 81-57, the Bombers have a slim two-game lead in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
