Black Knights Need Extras to Top Hops
|
The Brooklyn Black Knights beat the San Diego Hops, 6-4, in 11 innings. Brooklyn right fielder Todd McCarthy merited player of the game honors with his performance. He was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mike MacInroy picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Zong-yuan Sang was tagged with the loss. Earning his 2nd save for Brooklyn was Tokaji Goto.
Rob Koller had a productive at-bat for the Black Knights with one out in the top of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the catcher drew a walk. The at-bat was important in the Brooklyn win.
In postgame remarks, McCarthy simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
The Black Knights now have a record of 77-61 with the win over San Diego.
